I have to admit, in the past turkey burgers have not been my favorite. Everytime we tried to make them, they turned out dry and flavorless. I was pleasantly surprised to find this recipe in our P90X nutrition plan book. The burgers are moist and have great flavor. You are able to substitute panko, sourdough or italian bread crumbs and also half and half for the buttermilk.
20 ounces ground turkey
6 tablespoons panko breadcrumbs, or bread crumbs of your choice
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons low-fat buttermilk or half and half
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Combine all ingredients and form patties
Broil for 10 minutes each side. Serve on hamburger buns or without.
